What it costs

Pricing for Tag & Title Services

Quoted before we start Call for today's price Ask on the phone in under a minute

What moves the price

  • The transaction type, since a renewal and a title transfer are not the same amount of work.
  • Maryland excise tax, title, and registration fees set by the MVA, which are separate from our fee.
  • Whether an inspection, lien release, or additional document has to be resolved first.

Our service fee and the fees charged by the Maryland MVA are two different things. MVA excise tax, title, and registration fees are collected at cost and passed through without markup.

Prices shown are the NABSPRO service fee. Government, agency, and processing fees set by an outside body are separate and are collected at cost. You will be told your full total before any work begins.

Our promise to you

The Prepared Visit Promise

Call or send your request before you travel, and we will tell you exactly what to bring. If you bring everything we asked for and we still cannot complete your service that day for a reason within our control, your return visit is free.

This promise covers the work NABSPRO performs in our office. It does not cover how long an outside agency takes to process, approve, or return a result, because that timing is not ours to control.

Common questions

Maryland Tag & Title Services FAQs

What documents do I need for tag and title service?

Requirements depend on the transaction. Bring photo ID, ownership documents, insurance information, and any bill of sale, lien release, inspection, or MVA paperwork you have.

Can every vehicle transaction be completed immediately?

No. Some transactions require additional documents, inspections, approvals, or MVA action. The team will review what you bring and explain the next step.

Should I call before visiting?

Calling or submitting an appointment request is recommended for unusual transactions so you can confirm the document checklist before traveling.

Is your fee the same as the MVA fee?

No, and this is the most important thing to understand about vehicle paperwork. The MVA sets excise tax, title fees, and registration fees. Those are collected at cost and passed straight through. Our service fee is separate and is for handling the transaction for you. You will be told both numbers before we begin.

Do I still have to go to the MVA?

For most routine transactions, no. Some situations still require you to appear in person or require an inspection, and we will tell you plainly if yours is one of them rather than letting you find out later.

I bought a car from a private seller. What do I need?

Generally the signed title, a bill of sale, a Maryland safety inspection certificate for a used vehicle, proof of Maryland insurance, and your photo ID. Odometer disclosure and lien release may also apply. Call us with your situation before you travel and we will give you the exact list.

Can you handle an out-of-state title transfer?

Often yes. Out-of-state transfers usually require a safety inspection and sometimes a VIN verification. Bring the out-of-state title and your insurance information and we will review what applies.

Do you offer temporary tags the same day?

In many eligible cases yes, once the paperwork is complete and the required fees are paid. Call ahead to confirm eligibility for your specific transaction.
