Preparing for Service
What should I bring?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and every form, letter, authorization number, vehicle record, tax document, or other instruction connected to your service. Each service page has a more specific checklist.
How long will my service take?
Office time and outside-agency processing time vary by service, document completeness, system availability, and the receiving organization. Call ahead when you have a strict deadline.
Are prices on the website the final total?
Listed prices apply only to the services shown and may not include every government, carrier, or third-party fee. Confirm the exact category and total before the transaction.
Should I send sensitive records through the website form?
No. Do not submit Social Security numbers, ITINs, fingerprint images, financial account numbers, identity documents, tax records, passwords, or other highly sensitive information through the general website form.
Fingerprinting & Background Checks
What is Live Scan fingerprinting?
Live Scan captures fingerprints electronically rather than with ink on a physical card. The requesting organization should tell you the exact category or instructions required.
Is the physical FBI applicant fingerprint card FD-258?
Yes. FD-258 is the standard FBI applicant fingerprint form. Some organizations use other cards, so bring the exact instructions or card you were given.
When will fingerprint or background-check results be ready?
Processing time is controlled by the applicable agency or processing channel. NABSPRO cannot guarantee a specific result date.
Other Services
Which translation languages are offered?
NABSPRO lists English-to-French and French-to-English document translation support.
What is an ITIN used for?
An ITIN is an IRS tax-processing number for federal tax purposes. It does not authorize employment, change immigration status, or provide Social Security benefits.
Should I sign a document before a notary appointment?
Do not sign in advance when the notary must witness your signature. Bring the complete document, acceptable ID, and all required signers.
What documents are needed for tag and title service?
Requirements depend on the transaction. Bring photo ID, title or ownership records, insurance information, and any bill of sale, lien release, inspection, or MVA paperwork you have.
