What it costs

Pricing for ITIN Support

Quoted before we start Call for today's price Ask on the phone in under a minute

What moves the price

  • Whether this is a new application or a renewal.
  • The number of applicants in your household.
  • Whether a federal tax return must be prepared alongside the application.
  • Whether supporting documents also require translation.

ITIN support is quoted after a short conversation about your situation. The IRS does not charge a fee for Form W-7 itself.

Prices shown are the NABSPRO service fee. Government, agency, and processing fees set by an outside body are separate and are collected at cost. You will be told your full total before any work begins.

Our promise to you

The Prepared Visit Promise

Call or send your request before you travel, and we will tell you exactly what to bring. If you bring everything we asked for and we still cannot complete your service that day for a reason within our control, your return visit is free.

This promise covers the work NABSPRO performs in our office. It does not cover how long an outside agency takes to process, approve, or return a result, because that timing is not ours to control.

Common questions

ITIN Application & Renewal Support FAQs

What is an ITIN?

An ITIN is an IRS tax-processing number for people who need a U.S. taxpayer identification number for federal tax purposes but are not eligible for a Social Security number.

Does an ITIN authorize employment or change immigration status?

No. An ITIN is for federal tax purposes and does not authorize work, change immigration status, or provide Social Security benefits.

Can I submit identity documents through the contact form?

No. Do not upload or type sensitive identity information into the general website form. NABSPRO will provide the appropriate document instructions.

Do I have to mail my original passport to the IRS?

Not always. The IRS accepts certified copies from the issuing agency, and applicants can also apply in person through an IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent or at a Taxpayer Assistance Center, which lets you keep your original documents. We will explain which routes are open to you before you send anything anywhere.

How long does an ITIN application take?

IRS processing time varies and is longest during filing season. The IRS publishes current timeframes, and we will point you to that page rather than quote a number that may be out of date.

My ITIN expired. Do I need a whole new application?

No. Renewals use the same Form W-7 but are marked as a renewal. Bring your prior ITIN notice or the number itself if you have it.

Do my dependents need their own ITINs?

If you are claiming them on a federal return and they are not eligible for a Social Security number, generally yes. Each person needs their own application and their own supporting identity documents.

Does having an ITIN put me at risk?

An ITIN exists so that people can meet their federal tax obligations. It is not a work permit and it does not change immigration status. If you have concerns specific to your circumstances, speak with an immigration attorney. We will not pretend to answer legal questions that are outside our role.
