Service overview

What this service covers

NABSPRO provides traditional ink-card fingerprinting for customers who need physical fingerprint cards rather than an electronic Live Scan submission. We review the card and instructions you bring, verify identification details, and carefully capture rolled and flat impressions.

Who this may be for

Ink-card fingerprinting is often used for out-of-state licensing, federal requests, international applications, professional certifications, personal record requests, and agencies that specifically require a physical card.

Our promise to you

The Prepared Visit Promise

Call or send your request before you travel, and we will tell you exactly what to bring. If you bring everything we asked for and we still cannot complete your service that day for a reason within our control, your return visit is free.

This promise covers the work NABSPRO performs in our office. It does not cover how long an outside agency takes to process, approve, or return a result, because that timing is not ours to control.

Common questions

FD-258 Ink Card Fingerprinting FAQs

Is the standard FBI applicant card FD-258?

Yes. FD-258 is the standard FBI applicant fingerprint form, but some organizations use another card. Bring the exact instructions or card you received.

Does NABSPRO mail the card for me?

Submission needs vary. Bring your instructions so the team can confirm whether you will leave with the card or whether another supported process applies.

Can I use Live Scan instead?

Only when the receiving organization accepts an electronic process. Follow the exact method stated in its instructions.

What if I do not have the card?

We keep blank FD-258 cards in stock. If your agency requires a different card, you will need to obtain that specific card from them first.

How many cards should I get?

Many applicants order one spare. Cards are occasionally rejected for smudging or for a data-entry error by the receiving agency, and having a second card on hand saves a return trip.

Can you fill in the personal information on the card?

We help you complete the descriptive fields accurately, but the information must be yours and must match your identification exactly. A mismatch is one of the most common reasons a card is rejected.
