- Maryland state filing fees, which are set by the state and passed through at cost.
- Entity type and the number of owners.
- Whether you also need EIN and tax-account setup organized.
- Whether existing records must be corrected or brought current.
Maryland filing fees and the NABSPRO service fee are separate line items. You will see both before anything is filed.

Our promise to you
The Prepared Visit Promise
Call or send your request before you travel, and we will tell you exactly what to bring. If you bring everything we asked for and we still cannot complete your service that day for a reason within our control, your return visit is free.
This promise covers the work NABSPRO performs in our office. It does not cover how long an outside agency takes to process, approve, or return a result, because that timing is not ours to control.
Common questions
Business Registration Services FAQs
Does NABSPRO provide legal advice about entity type?
NABSPRO provides administrative document support, not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney or tax professional for advice specific to your situation.
What information should I prepare?
Prepare your preferred business name, ownership and contact details, address, and a description of the planned business activity.
Can every registration be completed in one visit?
Not always. Government filing systems, document requirements, name availability, and approvals can require additional steps.
Do I need an EIN as well?
Most businesses with employees, and most entities other than a single-member LLC with no employees, need a federal Employer Identification Number. It is obtained from the IRS and is separate from your Maryland registration. We can help you organize the information required.
What is a resident agent and do I need one?
Maryland requires most registered entities to name a resident agent with a Maryland street address who can receive legal notices. It can be an owner who lives in Maryland or a commercial service. This is a requirement, not an optional extra.
What happens after registration?
Maryland entities generally must file an Annual Report and Personal Property Return each year. Missing it can put your entity out of good standing. We will tell you the deadline so it does not surprise you next spring.
Should I be an LLC or a corporation?
That is a legal and tax question with real consequences, and it depends on your ownership, liability, and tax situation. We prepare paperwork, we do not choose entity type for you. Speak with an attorney or a tax professional first, then bring us the decision.
How much does it cost?
Maryland charges its own filing fees, which are set by the state and passed through at cost. Our service fee for preparing and organizing the paperwork is separate and is quoted before we begin.
